| From the East - January 2012 |

The new year brings a new officer line-up and renewed commitment to bring light to Masonry in Ridgefield. It is an honor to be elected to serve in the East for 2012. I want to congratulate the 2012 officer line on their stations and places, and thank them in advance for their earnest support of the lodge in the months ahead. WB Steve Hudson leaves not only a big chair but big shoes to fill after two wonderful years serving the Craft as Worshipful Master. During his time, we have significantly freshened the lodge, expanded our public profile, and delved deep into Masonic education. In the year ahead, I plan to continue to this direction, tapping the brothers to support the lodge through their labors and knowledge so that we may all grow personally and strengthen the lodge as a whole. We have several degrees already penciled in, as we advance and raise worthy men through our ancient rituals. In between, there will be a number of memorable educational programs throughout the year that should provide further enlightenment and hopefully enjoyment. It is this later element that can provide essentially mortar for our trowels. While our business carries much sincerity of purpose, there needs to be some fun, as well, to encourage continued participation in this world of increasing distractions. I’ll aim to balance these myriad goals, and hopefully make the first and third Mondays in Ridgefield “Must-See Masonry.” Remember, this is OUR lodge. Let’s work together to make it the lodge we want it to be. Fraternally, Jeff Bartlett Worshipful Master |
